SPRINGFIELD, MA- Dennis Horner scored a game-high 24 points and five other Armor (16-13) players scored in double figures to lead the Armor to a 114-98 victory over the Texas Legends (13-17) tonight inside the MassMutual Center. The Armor have now won three straight games and five of their last six.
Horner was a force for the Armor on the offensive end, burying 10-17 shots from the field and pulling down 11 rebounds to record his third double-double of the season. JamesOn Curry, one of three Armor players to be named a D-League All-Star yesterday, added 21 points and 5 assists, fellow All-Star Jerry Smith contributed 17 points and 8 assists and L.D. Williams scored 14 points, snared a season-high 13 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.
The Armor’s third recently-named All-Star, Jeff Foote (15 points, 7 rebounds) and Preston Knowles (11 points) rounded out the double figures scorers for the Armor tonight.
Springfield dished out a season-high 30 assists and turned the ball over a season-low 8 times. The Armor also had one of their best shooting games of the season, connecting on 14-28 from the three point line, equaling their season-high for shots made behind the arc.
Texas was led tonight by Dallas Mavericks’ assignee Sean Williams (17 points, 9 rebounds) and Alando Tucker (19 points, 6 assists). Dominique Johnson chipped in with 19 points and Booker Woodfox added 15.
The Armor led by as many as 22 points tonight en route to the victory in the Legends’ first-ever trip to Springfield.
